A woman holding a seashell over her left eye

About

I use the camera because I find it healing. Because I need air that is free from particles and debris. Because the films become filters to breathe through.

My name is Petra Koppla Dahlberg, a Sweden based filmmaker working with assignments and self-initiated projects. I also hold courses where we explore healing relations with the camera and our bodies.

Petra Koppla Dahlberg, born in 1980, has studied film direction at Stockholm University of the Arts and she moves between documentary and fiction. Petra's work is based on her own memories and she is particularly interested in the bodies different language expressions in relation to life experiences. In recent years, she has deepened her relation between grief and artistic creation. With her camera, Petra captures shards from reality, from her imagination and from her subconscious.
